三、課程大綱 Course Outline (本課程大綱教師得依實際教學進度及學生學習情況進行調整)
■  課程目標及內涵 (Course Objectives and Contents)
本系碩士班A組以人文科學為取向，探討人類與建築、都市以至整個生存環境相互間之關係，凡與此有關的問題，研究生均可選擇為研究或設計的探討課題。
•本系碩士論文分為學術論文與設計論文二類，前者著重訓練基本學術思考與分析方法，後者以培養完美主義的專業精神為目的。
•學術論文可以以下形式呈現：質性（Qualitative）或量化（Quantitative）研究；描述性（Descriptive）或因果性 （Cause and Effect）研究；理論性（Thereotical)或應用性（Applied）研究。若以應用性規劃書、設計準則或設計案形式完成之論文， 應對設計中某方面之特定旨趣有所追求與探索，並有相關發現、創意之提出。
•設計論文可以分為理論設計或實務設計二種。理論設計著重概念性設計的理論基礎或方法論的建構，實務設計強調專業精神的培育與建築師工作的完整認識。
■  多元教學方式 (Muliti-Teaching Methods)
說明：除了課堂講授與考試測驗之外，本課程在學期中可能會運用到以下哪些教學方式，以期能進一步提升學生學習成效

■  主要參考書籍/資料 (Textbooks and References) (教科書遵守智慧財產權觀念不得非法影印)
•研究生在開始研究工作之前，應先撰寫一研究計畫，以文字敘述論文背景、目的、問題假設、理論簡述、收集資料﹧數據的方法、分析方法、預期結果、研究流程時間表、及參考書目等。論文提案內容架構應以能清楚表達關切之議題，及可能採行的探究方法為要義。此一研究計畫的撰寫由研究所一年級下學期「論文寫作」課開始要求，並併入成為「論文寫作」課的評分項目之一。
•論文「提案審查」分書面審查與口頭審查兩階段。各生應於規定日期之前先以書面方式，將提案送交老師預審，若二位老師認為提案大致可行，即可通過，進入口頭審查階段。老師認為書面提案不宜通過時，該生應另行提出新的書面提案。

■  學習活動與作業說明 (Learning Activities and Assignments)
•口頭審查階段旨在集思廣益，協助同學對論文議題、設計計畫書、研究方法與資料取得等工作之確認。若老師對提案內容並無重大疑慮，口頭審查仍應予以通過。但若經審查後，仍有過半數審查老師認為提案應做大幅修改，或應另定題目時，該生應重新提案（書面及口頭）
•提案次數不限，但各生宜於研一下學期或研二上學期提出，以免拖延畢業年限。
•通過提案者，若論文題目有大幅度變動時，應另行提案。
•評審會中對各生論文提案之建議與最後決議，於會後一週內彙整交各生，以利論文之進行。
•研究課題經提案口試評審會通過後，研究生與系主任洽定指導教授，即開始進行研究工作，並應繳交一份正式提案（具指導老師簽名）至所備存。
•本系碩士論文指導教授應以系內老師為主，如因特殊需要得經課程委員會同意，申請由外校教授指導，但仍須系內老師共同掛名協調。
